Founder, Facilitator and Mentor

Kyala is a multi faceted teacher/mentor who has been developing her tool kit for over 25 years. She has travelled around world, exploring innovative and alternative ways to connect with and inspire children.

As a mother of two grown children, I am no stranger to the challenges, joys, and struggles that life presents as we grow and unfold into our authentic selves.

In 2012, after both children graduated from high school, I traveled around the world for a year to explore the diversity of education, culture and relationships that exist globally. Feeling limited in my worldview, I deeply desired to expand into a more global perception. In response to a strong calling from within, I traveled to Hawaii to explore swimming with the Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins. At the time I was not a strong swimmer and had a fear of the deep ocean. Upon meeting the dolphins, my fear vanished and over 5 years, I swam more than 200 hours with the local dolphin pods on Big Island Hawaii.

In my travels I  was introduced to alternative types of education that draw wisdom from nature, creativity, music, and community. Compelled to learn more, and called to support children, I  completed a diploma in Waldorf Education at the Rudolph Steiner College in Sacramento California in August of 2016. I then returned to Hawaii to teach for a year. Yearning to put down roots after 5 years of new experiences, and wanting to be near my family, I settled in Vancouver, British Columbia in 2017.  Immediately I began enriching the lives of children as a mentor and teacher in nature, art, music, and academic programs inspired by my new worldview.
